Large Scale Motion Correction in Fetal Brain Diffusion Imaging Studies

This talk will review approaches developed over the last 7 years by different groups to allow the collection of diffusion imaging of the fetal brain in utero. It will focus on the problems of estimating full 3D rigid head motion between individual diffusion weighted slices, and the robust reconstruction of 3D volumetric ODF estimates from the resulting motion scattered slice data. Examples will be included of different techniques applied to typical human clinical imaging studies at 1.5T and to high quality neuroscience studies at 3T.
