BioMedical Physics and other programs at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada

The Department of Physics at Ryerson University has a unique focus on physics in the context of human health and health care. A young department, its researchers are engaged in leading-edge investigations on a variety of fronts, from trace element detection in humans and minimally-invasive thermal therapy to optoacoustic imaging and advanced ultrasound imaging and therapy. Its location in the heart of downtown Toronto is ideal for collaborations with Canada's top hospitals. Current partner organizations include Princess Margaret Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Centre, and McMaster Health Centre. The Department offers BSc, MSc and PhD programs in Medical Physics. Doctoral and Masters graduates in biomedical physics may go on to complete a residency program, becoming clinical medical physicists licensed to treat patients.
