Techniques for experimental fluid flow investigations: Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)

Prof. Sergio Bova is full professor of Internal Combustion Engines at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Calabria (Italy) and President of the Master Degree Program in Energy Engineering. Prof. Bova has been working in the fields of internal combustion engines and renewable energy. The research activities currently carried out include the fields of:
- Fluid-dynamic characterization (LDA, PIV, CFD) of internal combustion engines components
- Experimental characterization and numerical modeling of internal combustion engines cooling systems
- Experimental characterization, modeling and control of variable-displacement lubricating pumps for internal combustion engines The content of the seminar wil include an introduction into the University of Calabria and the Master Degree Program in Energy Engineering. Furthermore, techniques for experimental fluid flow investigations like Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) will be presented.
